Dear Diary

Now I live in America for almost 1and half a year. If I think back how much hard it was to come to America than I cry. I steel remember the people dying in the ship because of hunger and mentally damaged. It was just a 1month but when I was in the ship, I felt like 10 years. I think I can never forget how hard it was.

America was fine to me because my master was kind enough to give me food and help me hard things. My master brought me to the church every Sunday. I learned about God and I started to believe it. Few days later from going to church, I didn't have regrets. I just understand it. I think every thing was different, Africa and America. I'll live with my master happily.

Dear Diary

Being slavery is the hardest thing for me. Good thing is that I get to wear good cloth but I miss my country Africa. When my family members were separated, I figured it out that they were staying right next to my master's house. We get to meet every day. My family member's Master doesn't care if we meet every day so I like it. I like the culture of America! I think it's great. Some slavery who are very dislike being slavery, they come out from their master's house and steel money from other people's house. We have little bit of crime but its ok for me to live.

Dear Diary

My life changed a lot by learning English. Now my master makes me feel comfortable and I communicate each other a lot by talking. My Master gives me bread, pizza, spaghetti, and other delicious stuff. I don't like being slavery but I get to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner every day. That is the best thing about staying in America. My master uses dollar for money. I don't get to keep money. I get to see shiny sky and beautiful grass. It was weird for me to see dose kind of stuff but know I enjoy it. I like to stay in America except being slavery!

Dear Diary

They went through Ellis Island riding a ship. We had hard time going to America because we had not enough food. People were dying of hunger. It was stinky in the room where we stayed. After we arrived to America, we went to the place called the African's store. It was the place where they buy and sell Africans for slavery. My family and I got separated each other. We all cried. I was owned by rich master. My master was so strict and scary. It was very hard staying with my master.

Dear Diary

My name is Adowa Lema and I'm 17 years old. I have 3 members in my family. My father's name is Aneze and my mother's name is Ada. They are both 46years old. We eat rice and meat for every day and we speak African.

Some people says, when people from America bring us to America. They use us for slavery. Sometimes they kill their slavery when they don't obey so we live with scareness.
